The Charleston Soccer League was established in 1979 and provides multiple levels of play opportunities for youth throughout central Illinois in grades pre-k through 12. The league is the parent organization for CFC.

The CSL, a non-profit organization, is governed by a board of directors. The board consists of 9-13 volunteer community members. Members are elected to 3-year terms.

Board meetings are typically held the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to the public except when an executive session is called.
